Customers often call us, after property maintenance, a flood extraction or restoration company remediated, asking; "Why Did The Mold Grow Back?" Here are a few reasons:

Contractors who are NOT Micro Certified, will often:

• Use BLEACH. A harmful chemical that is diluted with water and feeds the mold spores. In a few weeks the mold color comes back.
• Paint or Cover over Water Damage. When temperatures and humidity increase, hidden mold will become apparent and more toxic.
• Remove Drywall 12 or 24-in. Drywall absorbs water on the inside up to 48-inches, so testing and removing all moisture is imperative.
• Report & Sample Incorrectly. Indoor mold levels should NEVER be the same or higher than mold growing outdoors to be a safe environment. Insufficient samples taken will not capture the health of the whole building or identify hidden mold from previous water intrusion. 
• Fog instead of Remediate. Fogging will not remove the root cause of your mold growth, because it cannot remove moisture that is trapped inside building materials. Dry fog will only work on surface, it cannot penetrate to areas behind hard surfaces. Fogging antimicrobial chemical compounds of Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide leave residue that is harmful to humans, pets, and wildlife.  
• Fail to use Sealant. Mold remediation is a step-by-step process to clean the area that is salvageable. After the mold spores have been removed, the area needs the right kind of sealant applied.
