INDOOR AIR QUALITY TEST
Air Sampling (IAQ) is taken to determine the amount of airborne mold or fungal spores. Unlike a Petrie dish, our Bio Pump sucks in 72 million particles per 1,200 sqft, trapping microscopic mold spores inside each cassette. The cassettes we use collect both viable and non-viable sample specimens, providing a much broader overview of potential allergens and contaminants than conventional sampling techniques. We place the cassettes in target areas of your building to identify where, or if, mold is growing and compare it to the level of mold spores outside. A mold inspection and test can determine if the air you are breathing is safe, and if the building is compromised from moisture intrusion. MOLD SURFACE SAMPLING
Visible mold can be identified microscopically on spore trap samples more accurately from a glass tape lift compared to a swab. We test a variety of surfaces that are suspect for mold. For example, instead of collecting bulk samples which are inconclusive, we take a surface sample on the flat floor under the carpet. Ceilings and walls can be immediately tested for non-visible moisture intrusion by taking a bore sample with a moisture meter reader. The samples we collect are sent to the industry's leader in environmental testing. Their international laboratories are AIHA-LAP, LLC accredited, and the certified microbiologists are trained in over 1000 mold species. Our microscopic filtering small low-flow air bio-pump and cassettes capture particulates in the millions so the results are very reliable. The tape lifts for surface samples we use are thin glass with a very sticky residue, when slapped on visible mold it traps the spores. Each sample is verified twice by two microbiologists. Health of the Building
Moisture and warm temperatures create humidity, which makes the right environment for mold growth. Molds can cause structural damage because they consume and destroy natural organic material. Mold spores can be hidden in areas behind the wall, insulation, flooring material, HVAC ventilation, mini-split systems, the attic, as well as the basement subfloor, or crawl space.
