The Oregon Coast provides plenty of rain, fog and mist. Mold will grow when it is given warm temperatures and moisture or high humidity - we call "the right conditions". You can find mold around leaks in roofs, windows, or pipes, or where there has been water intrusion or flooding. When indoor air is warmer than outdoor air, moisture collects on cold windows, walls, pipes and roofs it will reproduce into spores when it finds organic materials such as cardboard, ceiling tiles, and wood products. It can also grow in dust, paints, wallpaper, insulation, drywall, carpet, fabric, and upholstery.
