Sisters is a premier vacation destination for its recreational activities in every direction with lakes, rivers and trails and for horseback riding, hiking, biking, and skiing. It is located in the central portion of the state of Oregon approximately 154 miles southeast of Portland. Many people driving from Bend and Redmond stop alongside the road to take photographs of the farms in the foreground landscape with the snow covered mountains in the distance.
